Henrico County residents can now search police arrest records, incident reports, and calls for service through a new online portal launched by the Henrico County Police Department.

The system allows users to search arrest charge reports by date range and crime category, covering incidents from the past day, week, or month. The portal categorizes offenses across more than fifty crime types, from homicides and assaults to traffic violations and animal bites.

The searchable categories include serious violent crimes such as homicide, rape, robbery, and assault, as well as property crimes including burglary, larceny, and auto theft. The system also tracks narcotics violations, weapons offenses, fraud, and driving under the influence arrests.

Beyond criminal matters, the portal provides access to reports on sudden deaths, suicide attempts, mental health crises, and public service calls. Users can also search for missing persons reports and found property records.

The database offers two search methods. Quick searches allow users to pull all records from the previous day, week, or month with a single click. Advanced searches require at least one criterion, such as a specific date range or crime category.

The portal also includes RSS feeds and web services integration, suggesting the department intends for the data to be accessible to news organizations, researchers, and community groups tracking public safety trends.

Henrico’s move toward transparency aligns with a broader push across the Richmond metro area to make police data publicly accessible. Such portals allow residents to monitor crime patterns in their neighborhoods and hold law enforcement accountable for response times and enforcement priorities.

The system does not appear to include victim names or detailed case narratives, focusing instead on charge information and categorical data. Searches require users to select parameters before accessing results, a design that prevents bulk downloading of the entire database.

Residents can access the portal through the Henrico Police Department website.
