Chesterfield Police Station Closed After Fire Forces Operations Elsewhere

The Chesterfield County Police Department’s Falling Creek Station is closed indefinitely after a fire damaged the facility at 20 N. Providence Road, forcing the department to redirect residents seeking in-person police assistance.

Anyone needing police services normally handled at the station should call 804-748-1251, according to the department. No timeline for reopening has been announced.

The closure comes as the department continues investigating several serious incidents across the county. A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 15000 block of Woods Edge Road around 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, has died. The crash remains under investigation.

Separately, police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred in the 1300 block of Buford Road at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

The department has also resolved two missing persons cases in recent days. A missing man, Mr. Upshaw, has been located. And 12-year-old Eemilia Attulien, who had been reported as a runaway, was found safe and reunited with her family.

Chesterfield residents can monitor police activity through several county resources. An active police calls page shows incidents officers are currently responding to, updated every few minutes. Calls are assigned priority levels from 4, the lowest, to 1, the highest, though the department notes that call types reflect initial dispatch information and investigation outcomes may differ.

The county also maintains an active traffic incidents page covering Chesterfield, Henrico, and Richmond, updated every few minutes. An active warrants list is updated twice daily. A calls and incidents map allows residents to view police activity in their neighborhood, with information typically appearing two days after incidents occur.

The Falling Creek Station fire adds to operational challenges for a department managing multiple active investigations. Residents who previously visited the North Providence Road location for services should plan to handle matters by phone until further notice.
